beneath a whispered sky, the lone tree stands,
its branches sway in a tender dance,
each leaf a murmur, each twist a chance,
as the wind weaves through, with gentle hands.
together they speak in rustling tones,
a ballet of breezes, in twilight's embrace,
where every leaf flutters, yet finds its place,
in the silent song of the unknowns.

project concept
To be the wind for the tree
To be the sun for the leaves
To be a mineral for the roots
To be a bird or a pollinator insect.
Did you ever want to hear a tree talk? Did you ever want to feel how the water goes up the tree crones? How do the minerals feel for the root hair? How does the wind feel for the tree? This project is based on the idea of the Internet of Trees (IoT) verbalizing parameters the tree is sensitive to.
The project originates from the summer 2020, Sestrorestsk swamp and pandemic sensitivity, it continued with the data from the three hundred year old oak from the summer garden, and the poplar trees in Sevkabel Port. The Arles iteration of the project in Parc des Ateliers is unique for the reason that we investigate the trees endemic to the region yet placed in a completely artificial environment with soil and irrigation system cultivated.
In the summer 2020 I felt closer to the trees than ever, because of the induced immobility and because I had time and space to spend with them. The text you see on this site going to translate the trees readable for the viewer creating vocabulary and grammar for the atmospheric events that affect them and physiological processes that happen inside them: the sap going up the crown, the humidity and temperature of the tree trunk, soil and air, tree acceleration and resistance to the wind and gravity, the ten spectra of light the leaves photosynthesythe on, ambient and UV light. The generated text is based on the data from these sensors.
